Step 1. Connect to Google
*On your computer, sign in to Google My Business. https://www.google.com/business/
*Sign in to your Google Account, or create one. Then, click Next.
*Sign up with your business email domain since this account will be for your business. Enter the name of your business.
*Enter your business’ or chain’s address. Then, click Next. (If you're online only, you can put that your business doesn't have an address!)
*Search for and select a business category. Then, click Next.
*Enter a phone number or website URL, then click Finish.
*Verify your account!! (You'll get a letter in the mail with code to enter)

*Submit Sitemap (Some website hosts automatically do this for you Like Square, Wix, and Shopify, if yours doesn't this is super important because verifying your website domain and sitemap with Google Search Console helps Google identify you as the owner of the site, making it trustworthy in the eyes of Google. When your domain and sitemap is verified, your site is crawled by Google faster and will more likely rank higher in Google search results.)

* Add page descriptions (Including your collection pages and product pages)
* Add page titles
* Add meta + product tags (Make sure EVERY page, including your collection and product pages have at least one meta tag)
* Add social links
* Add contact info

* Site Speed: Remove any apps/super high def pics, anything that bogs down your site. Google included site speed as one of the all-important ranking factors. Every additional 0.5s it takes to load your site drastically increases the number of visitors that will leave your site. So, even an improvement of 0.5 seconds will increase traffic to your website.
* Add Web Analytics Apps: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other private web analytics software solutions can help you track your success. (These also do NOT bog down your speed. They crawl your page instead of being embedded. )
Crazy Egg is also a good one to use, as it shows you where your site visitors are clicking and how they navigate away from your site.
* Keywords in Images: Make sure to add a good file name or description to each picture you have up! Google cannot read words that are in images. So name that image whatever your image says.
* Unique Content: Make sure all content, (About page or FAQ page content uses your keywords/meta tags.)
* Social Signals: Although the amount your site link is shared or clicked via apps, social media, or other websites is not something that is included in the SEO guidelines, it is still crucial for website traffic and engagement. (That = more sales)
